Daniel Murphy is a photograhic artist based in Manchester, working predominantly with still image. Nearly all of Murphy's work is achieved through analogue processes but he also still holds a strong knowledge and involvement with digital techniques.

Much of his portraiture work explores ideas relating to identity and belonging; often achieved by focusing on depicting the relationship between a subject and the location they are placed in.

Expanding from his personal work, Daniel has a strong demonstration of commercial work, also; spanning between both fashion, portraiture and event photography.  Working independently, Murphy is fully confident in producing and directing shoots, in their entirety, while still correlating with clients brief. Additionally, with prior personal works centred around elements of rave culture, a skill set has been built in photographing events and relating matters.

In May of 2023, Daniel released his first self-publication 'No Hassle', which aimed to highlight his personal relationship with 'rave'. The A5 perfect bound document was made of entirely Murphy's images, as well as including art, design and poetry from other artists.
