Daniel Murphy is a photograhic artist based in Manchester, working prodominently with still image. A large portion of Murphy's work is achieved through analogue processes but he also still holds a strong knowledge and involvement with digital techniques.

Much of his portraiture work explores ideas relating to identity and belonging; this mainly relating to sub-cultures that have personally interested or literally been evident within Murphy's own experiences. Recent work has focused on community, intricacies of masculine identity and the widths of modern rave culture.

Expanding from his personal work, Daniel has a strong demonstration of commercial work too - this spanning between both fashion/portraiture and event photography. With personal interests and involvement in elements of fashion, Murphy has confidence in producing stylised editorial and portaiture work alongside clients. Additionally, due to prior personal work focusing on elements of rave culture, a skill set has been built in photographing events and relating matters.

In May of 2023, Daniel released his first self-publication 'No Hassle', which aimed to highlight his personal relationship with 'rave'.
